I have always admired this organization. When I saw the invitation for the Tag Sale, I knew I’d make every effort to be there. The sale was held at one of the Dress For Success career centers in Washington, DC. Being there stirred up some emotions. It reminded me of my days as a job coach.
As a former job coach, I personally reconnected with one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I remembered being very fulfilled in that role, conducting job training workshops and assisting men and women with their professional wardrobes. I can go on and on about that.
The event was an absolute success in my eyes! Everything was very well organized, the prices were excellent and the volunteers were very professional and helpful. I had a great experience from beginning to end. I also met some of the ladies who operate the program and it motivated me to sign up to volunteer, very soon.
I took home a huge bag filled with shoes, a jacket, tops, scarves and other accessories….all for $55.
Here’s a look…
With Megan, Executive Director and in my first purchase (a navy blue Ann Taylor jacket, it was new with tags still attached)

I thought this sign was so cute and welcoming

The room of coats & dresses had so many to choose from. Loved it!

My vintage brooches. I can’t wait to embellish my sweaters and blouses with these.

Gold clutch. My favorite find.

Vintage earrings & awesome $1 scarves. There was a huge box full of beautiful scarves as soon as you entered. I was so lost in that box and took a few home.

As you can see here, all was very well organized, by size, throughout the career center which made it very easy to shop
More sassy scarves for ME!

You know that I can’t go anywhere without buying shoes. The metallic ones are darling.

I hope to see you at the next event!
